Just after 9.00 am on Monday (December 20), the Intelligent Parking System was launched in the center of Rzeszów. Based on cameras and sensors installed in the city space, the tool is designed to help drivers find a parking space.
The new parking zone monitoring system will cover two subzones - the blue one, i.e. the city center, and the orange one - streets adjacent to the center of Rzeszów. It is based on 388 cameras and 305 detection sensors that provide data on available parking spaces. 14 km of optical fiber were used for the construction. The system will cover a total of 2,200 parking spaces.
Mobile application and Boards for drivers
The new system to facilitate parking in the city center will be based on the E-Parking mobile application, which should be available for download on smartphones.
The application, in addition to directing you to a parking space, also informs you about parking prices and allows you to pay for parking. An important function is also to be a citizens' application. It is about reporting to the municipal services incorrect parking, a broken parking meter or damage to our car in the parking lot.
For drivers who will not use the application, VMS information boards located in the city center will be useful, which indicate how many vacancies there are on a given street.
